WORKING TOGETHER TO ANTICIPATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ELECTRICAL CHARGING STATIONS With the recent progression of electric vehicles in Europe, governments are encouraging local authorities, large retailers, motorway service operators, and the hospitality industry to support this development through an ambitious plan to install charging points.

1 MILLION CHARGING POINTS BY 2025
«OBJECTIVE 1,000,000 CHARGING POINTS» The European Commission has set a target to have one million charging points by 2025 and is aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transport by 90% from 1990 levels by 2050.
AN INSTALLATION TAKES BETWEEN 2 AND 6 MONTHS
A NUMBER OF MEASURES TO SUCCEED The number of charging points in the 27 EU nations and the UK increased from 34,000 in 2014 to 250,000 in September 2020. The European Commission, meanwhile, has set a target of at least 30 million zero-emission vehicles by 2030 and a largely zero-emission vehicle fleet by 2050. That compares with roughly two million currently registered in the EU.
IT IS URGENT TO ANTICIPATE Such projects cannot be conceived without being anticipated. In fact, an installation project requires an average of 2 to 6 months to be completed. All relevant players involved have to prepare their projects in advance, to meet the fixed goals and integrate these constraints in future infrastructure projects.

EACH USE HAS ITS CHARGE TYPE
AC CHARGING: FROM 3 TO 22 KW Most vehicles are for occasional use. That allows them to be charged during periods of inactivity, at night or during the day. The AC charging points perfectly suit this situation. This type of recharge represents approximately 85% of the cases.
There are 3 types of charging points for precise uses. They meet the needs of the different charging requirements. Leaving a vehicle overnight in a parking lot or on a public road does not require the same power as a temporary charge while at a restaurant or while shopping, nor for an ultrafast charge on the motorway in order to continue the journey. All these charging systems apply to electric and hybrid vehicles. In fact, hybrid vehicles have to be regularly charged , otherwise they will function as fossil fuel vehicles.
DC CHARGING: 50 KW In cases of temporary charge, during a more or less long stop, the DC charging provide the vehicles with extra autonomy. This type of charging requires more power in order to charge the battery faster. They are suited to shopping mall and restaurant parking lots, for example.

HPC CHARGING: > 100 KW Cases of HPC charging are more specific. The objective is to allow the vehicle to complete a journey with a charge taking place in a limited amount of time. They require a surfeit of power.

AN EVOLUTIVE RANGE OF ADAPTORS Unimi-1Base TM already offers a range of more than 50 models of anchoring adaptors that correspond to a great majority of EV Charger manufacturers’ models. Unimi-1Base TM is an evolutive solution that allows for custom-made anchoring adaptors to adapt to all the new terminals on the market (4 to 6 weeks for fabrication).

These anchoring adaptors can be in powder-coated or stainless steel.
PRECAST CONCRETE The Unimi-1Base TM anchoring system is a foundation made of precast concrete.
This anchoring technique optimizes the volume of concrete necessary while ensuring the reliability of the infrastructure if the charging solution evolves. Removable plugs cover three of the four openings at the foot of the foundation and allow the ducts to be passed for a serial power supply of the terminals. AN INTERIM PROTECTIVE COVER Once the foundation has been installed, the base’s opening can be covered by a protective cast-iron cover to secure the worksite or while awaiting the installation of the charging station. This protects the infrastructure during the first installation and any future changes or replacements of the EV charger. As an option: a personalized mark on the cover with the logo of a city or a company.

SECURITY: AN ADAPTOR THAT PRESERVES THE TERMINAL AND THE FOUNDATION The crash protection offer an extremely efficient protection against degradation of the terminal in the case of a vehicle collision. The solution was designed to permit the adaptor to act as a fuse in the absence of any protection. Its specifically designed breaking point permits it to fully protect the charging point and the foundation. A SIMPLIFIED IMPLEMENTATION AND EXPLOITATION Unimi-1Base TM really simplifies the work site. Addressing the constraints involved in on-site casting, the universal anchoring solution is quick to install, whatever the weather may be. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

EXCAVATION The excavation must be equivalent to the outer dimensions of the bed enlarged by approx. 40 cm to allow for peripheral compaction. The bottom of the excavation must have a bearing capacity of 2 bars, be protected from frost, at 50 cm minimum, and not be situated at groundwater level. POSITIONING OF THE FOUNDATION Position the foundation using the hoisting means provided for that purpose: Place the foundation on a 10 cm minimum bed of sand respecting the 40 cm from the sides of the excavation taking care, for the AC foundation, to orient the strut according to the final position of the terminal. Guarantee the perfect level with a spirit level. Once the ducts and cables have been passed, fill the foundation with sand up to half-height to prevent rodents from climbing up the inside of the terminal. Seal the unused through-going openings at the foot of the bed with the plugs provided for this purpose. BACKFILLING The backfill must be done with 0/31.5 bank gravel, or any other equivalent material, in successive compacted layers of 30 cm. FASTENING OF THE PLATE Ensure that the upper part of the foundation is clean and clear of any gravel or other matter that could destabilize the device. After filling the attachment points with an appropriate grease, screw the anchoring plate into the intended inserts or openings with a recommended tightening torque of 18 Nm. AC Foundation on the central strut with an approved lifting stud. QC Foundation on hoisting studs with an approved lifting eye 1t3. HPC Foundation on lifting studs with an approved lifting eye 2t5.

Install the protection system directly on the foundation using the apertures intended for this purpose. The poles’ dowels should be positioned above the final ground level in a manner that permits, if necessary, the easy replacement of a damaged pole.
